What is FootyFox?

FootyFox is a daily guessing game where you try to identify a mystery UEFA Champions League player using color-coded hints. Each day features a new player that everyone guesses simultaneously.

How do I play?

Simply type a player's name in the search box and select from the suggestions. After each guess, you'll receive feedback on age, country, position, team, and shirt number. Use these clues to narrow down your next guess!

How many guesses do I get?

You have up to 10 attempts to guess the daily player. The game ends when you guess correctly or use all your guesses.

Can I play multiple times per day?

No, FootyFox is designed as a daily challenge. Once you've completed the game (win or lose), you'll need to wait until the next day for a new player.

What do the colors mean?

Each guess provides feedback through three colors:

How does the feedback work for each category?

• Age: Yellow if within ±2 years of the mystery player
• Country: Yellow if from the same continent
• Position: Yellow if adjacent (GK → DEF → MID → FWD)
• Team: Yellow if from the same league
• Shirt Number: Yellow if within ±4 of the mystery player's number

Is FootyFox free to play?

Yes! FootyFox is completely free to play. There are no in-app purchases or premium features.

Do I need to create an account?

No account required! Your game progress and statistics are stored locally in your browser. Just visit the site and start playing.

Is my data stored on servers?

Your personal game statistics are stored locally in your browser's localStorage. We only collect anonymized usage data to improve the game experience.

Which devices can I play on?

FootyFox works on any modern web browser on desktop, tablet, or mobile devices. It's fully responsive and optimized for all screen sizes.

How are players selected for the daily game?

Every day at midnight UTC, our system randomly selects a player from our database of current and recent UEFA Champions League participants. The same player is selected for everyone worldwide.

How often is the player database updated?

We regularly update our database to include new Champions League participants and remove players who are no longer active in European competitions. Updates happen several times per season.

Can I suggest players to add?

Absolutely! If you notice a Champions League player missing from our database, please contact us through our contact form with their details.

How are my statistics tracked?

Your personal stats (games played, win rate, current streak, etc.) are stored locally in your browser. We don't collect or store personal game data on our servers.

Can I share my results?

Yes! After completing a game, you can share your results on social media using the built-in share button. Your results are shared as a fun emoji grid showing your guess pattern.

What do the statistics mean?
